3rd annual ladies-only fly fishing tournament along the banks of Elk Creek in Erie County, Pennsylvania. This fun-filled competition is for women anglers that are ready to hook, fight, and land their own fish. 3 Queens are crowned each year; Queen of the Suckers, Queen of the Trifecta, and Queen of Trash. There will be netboys present to aid in landing fish, but we recommend bringing a wide-hooped, long handled net for your own use.

Free to participate. If you want some snazzy Sucker Fiesta t-shirts and stickers please bring $30. Once we hit times up, we’ll head to a local brewery for food, drinks, prizes, and giggles. Must RSVP to my email or let Danielle Teed know, space is limited.

Start time 8:45 AM

End time 2:00 PM (Unless you’re hooked up at 1:59:59 PM, the fat lady is singing at 2:00 PM!)

Mandatory catch-and-release fishing. All participants are expected to follow Keep Fish Wet handling principles.

Queen of the Suckers is decided by the length of sucker. All sucker species, as well as carp species and quillbacks are eligible for measuring. The last two years a Golden Redhorse variety was the winner, and both above 25” in length.

Queen of the Trifecta is decided by the whomever catches a Smallmouth Bass, Steelhead Trout, and a sucker. If multiple anglers catch a trifecta the decision will be made based upon length of each fish added together.

Queen of Trash is decided by whomever collects the most refuse by weight. We will have a scale and a laundry basket and weigh the garbage collected.

We will meet in a parking area along the banks of Elk Creek. Danielle & I try to arrive around 8:15 AM. Participants will receive an email with coordinates and further information. You must be pre-registered to participate and overly competitive behavior will not be tolerated.

We will end the day at the Twisted Elk Brewery. Food and drinks are available for purchase and prizes will be awarded.
